Noteworthy Accomplishments and Interests:
Robert W. Taylor is a senior litigation partner at TVS with
an extensive commercial and corporate litigation practice.
Mr. Taylor frequently represents private and public sector
clients in a variety of disputes. He represented the Province
of British Columbia in the appeal of a large and complex native
land claim case. Mr. Taylor has also acted as counsel on several
complex and lengthy construction disputes.
In the products liability area, Mr. Taylor has represented
the Workers' Compensation Board on a number of actions arising
from the installation of asbestos fireproofing in commercial
buildings, plants and vessels. Mr. Taylor has also represented
and advised manufacturers on a variety of cases and issues.
Mr. Taylor has had extensive experience acting as counsel
in corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions,
director and officer responsibilities, proxy solicitation
matters and shareholder disputes. He successfully represented
a broadcast communications client in a lengthy and complicated
takeover bid of a Vancouver-based television station.
Mr. Taylor has acted on behalf of clients in business litigation
issues involving franchise disputes, debtor-creditor claims,
contract, securities, real estate, product liability and commercial
tenancies.
Mr. Taylor has appeared before all levels of court in British
Columbia, has represented clients before the Supreme Court
of Canada and has appeared before a variety of regulatory
and municipal authorities.
Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Taylor has lectured on continuing
legal education courses in both British Columbia and Washington
State.
